I’ve had this issue on a number of releases I’ve tried: the upgrade process and subsequent restart seems to break something related to the web ui.
It’s possible to connect via ssh, but port 80 is not open:
Web browser tells it cannot connect to the server and to determine if the port is being listened to, I directed ssh to port 80
Daniels-MacBook-Pro:~ Daniel$ ssh volumio@ -p 80

Currently the USB-DAC I’m using isn’t connected, but I’ve had the same problem with connected DAC…

Not sure what to include for troubleshooting - hoping the printouts below may be of help.

Can’t find which service provides the web server, otherwise I would have tried manually starting or restarting it.

IIRC there is no upgrade path from RC1 to RC2. The kernel was changed so it needs to be reflashed.

That’s strange… For sure there was a choice from system page. In that case it’s that upgrade shouldn’t been offered…
I’ll try to reflash it as soon as I find my SD-adapter to write the image on my mac, but fact remains - the system offered
me to upgrade and has done so on several releases. Has always messed up the web UI, though…

You’re using pre-release software, there is always a possibility of breaking changes.

The update to RC2 stated clearly that a new reflash needed to be done, since the kernel was new. I’m however surprised by the behaviour of your installation. Did you enable test mode?

Apologies for a late response…
I clearly understand that a pre-release may not work as expected - I’m not complaining, I was just reporting a fault, which turned out to be another fault than I reported (to offer an upgrade where none should be offered.) When I locate the SD-card adapter I will start by recreating the problem again before I re-flash the card. I may be a while, though, as I have some other projects taking my time.

I’m guessing it should be possible to recreate from existing images on a virtual machine, but I’ll try to write down my steps if that will be useful. Also the issue may not be worth investigating since we’re talking upgrade from one pre-release version to another.
