two easy DIY OLED devices

HI,
see here two easy build volumio devices with oled.
two_oled_devices.jpg

  1. DACberry one+ , with smoked one+ case and 1.3 OLED from OSA
    (also for DACberry pro+ avaible)
for OLED I use that one: github.com/antiprism/vol_oled.
    very beautiful black/white display!
  2. IQaudio DAC PRO with XLR board and CASE( all from IQaudio), & Nanomesher Hackable Pi Switch Cap.
This nice solution includes an IR and remote control and fits into the case.
    just install nanomesher plugin! ready.

Hi

Thanks for sharing your setups. The vol_oled project moved to mpd_oled some time ago, and I recommend using mpd_oled instead as it is still actively maintained

github.com/antiprism/mpd_oled

Adrian.

Thanks a lot, Adrian

Here is the update:
OLED_DACBERRY.jpg

That was quick!

Hi Adrian,

With the recent versions of Volumio - i didn’t get the spectrum analyzer working.
@Judydudi: It seems it also doesn’t work on your setup, right ?

Best Regards
Josef

Hi Josef

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check the current mpd_oled on a fresh install of Volumio, and see what is going on.

Adrian.

interesting.
i saw a spectrum with github.com/antiprism/vol_oled.
but not with github.com/antiprism/mpd_oled
both with recent version of volumio.
Thanks josef.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.

I downloaded the latest Volumio and installed it on a Raspberry Pi Zero W, then followed the current mpd_oled install instructions for Volumio. mpd_oled installed correctly, with a working spectrum display.

In which case…

if you are playing through a plugin that does not use MPD, e.g. a Spotify plugin, then the spectrum display won’t work if it has been installed with the usual install instructions. For a solution, see: github.com/antiprism/mpd_oled/i … -423255641 (and the reast of that issue).

Otherwise, if you would like to troubleshoot the issue, could you please post the output of

ls -l /tmp/cava* /tmp/mpd*

Adrian.

Thank you so much Adrian!
you know, the one who can read is in advantage.

I did not do this point:
“Force Volumio to regenerate mpd.conf and restart MPD by going to the Web UI PLAYBACK OPTIONS and clicking on the Audio Outputs save button.”

Now, everything works fine!
Good work, Adrian.
Thanks again, jens

Hi jens

Great! Thanks for letting me know.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian, Hi Jens,

Oh silly me…

I also did not do this point:
“Force Volumio to regenerate mpd.conf and restart MPD by going to the Web UI PLAYBACK OPTIONS and clicking on the Audio Outputs save button.”

Now it is also working again for me

Have a nice weekend
Josef

Hi Josef

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll update the instructions to give the step a bit more emphasis!

Adrian.
