Thanks for the reply. I just noticed that when I power the Pi up with a coax cable connected to my DAC, the startup tone does play, so it seems as though the issue is specific to the software I’m trying to use (Volumio Spotify Connect 2).
i have the same problem-not output from a new installed digione. the RPI with volumio is working fine over the standard audio jack. The Digione when plugged is always having a green led one. i configured the music output to digione, but not sound via coax.

this is not really an error, it is just that driver registration failed at the first attempt (afaik it is error -517), this can be a timing issue and implies the component trying to register the driver needs to retry, which is done just below it and that succeeds

I know, I should not ask, but are you sure you selected SPDIF as your output device?
