When I just upgraded from Volumio2 around version 2.387 (I’m not sure what the specific prior version was) to 2.452, and I lost sound.
My hardware setup is a RPi 3 B with a HifiBerry AMP+.
Initially after installation and getting no sound.
In the web interface, I selected “I2S DAC” to “On”, and the “DAC Model” to “HiFiBerry Amp”, clicked “save”. The “Output Device” shows as “snd_rpi_hifiberry_amp”. I still got no sound.
I ssh’d into the device, and tried
speaker-test
with various options, and I didn’t get sound (it appeared that I was not selecting the right device).
Previously, I’ve had good luck blacklisting the built-in audio, so I did that by doing the following:
Edit the (new) file /etc/modprobe.d/audio.conf
Add the line “blacklist snd_bcm2835”
Save the file
Reboot
aplay -L
no longer listed the internal audio, and
speaker-test
now made sound on the speakers with no options required.
The “Playback Options” section of the “Playback Options” page looks like it has issues:
- DSD Playback Mode: DSD Direct
- DSD Auto Volume Level: Off
- Error: indistinct setting, see attachment
- Audio Buffer Size: Error
- Buffer Before Play: Error
- Persistent Queue: On
I think this is distinct from the issue here: hifiberry-dac-sound-t9900.html
