Several DACs on one raspberry

Postby mSa » Fri Nov 08 2019 22:07

Is there a way to connect several boards to one RPI 3b+?
E.g. two different DAC boards with analog output and one more with digital ones. And either make them work simultaneously and plug the speakers into one of them or make some kind of output switch which would select the output device. I want to get one digital out and two different analog devices which sound different.

There is only one i2s interface on the RPi, so one i2s DAC. Also, as far as I am aware Volumio does not support an i2s & a USB DAC simultaneously.

So is there an easy way to integrate some 3-posiyion switch which would work as "on - dac 1 / off / on - dac 2"? And what is better to use as the power source for this?
