I got the combo Kali+Piano worked on RPI3 correctly. Today I got the Mamboberry LS Dac+ from mail. I just replace the Piano DAC by Mambo DAC. I still have the power connected to Kali. No sound coming out. What DAC option should I use in Volumio? Do I have to change any jumper on Mambo Dac?

Edit: I found the answer. I need to use Mamboberry HiFi Dac+ for DAC model and Hifiberry DAC for Output Device.

And? Any sound differences? Why did you go for the Mambo?

Reclocker (i2s ps jitter)

I have a Audiophonics ES9023 v2 clone and it has a 50MHz crystal oscillator on it. How does the Kali bypass this?

I see 2 options on the website: 22/24 MHz and a 44/48 MHz for the Kali. What is the difference?

With the Kali, does it still allow us to play DSD media on the ES9023 since its designed to play 44.1Khz (wave) and 48khz (streamed) files?

I would also be interested in answering these questions. THX!

Hi guys,
if your DAC is slave then it will work with the KALI
with 22/24 MHz - can go up to 192Khz sampling rate , with 44/48 MHz can play up to 384khz sampling rate files.
KALI wont support DSD... are you using some app to convert?

thanks

How do we check if the DAC is a slave?

I have not had much time hearing the Mamboberry Dac. Comparing to Pinano DAC, Mamboverry sounds clearer and more depth. However the bug with repeating loop when you stop the song is so severely. It loops nonstop, and I have to restart the Volumio. Any solution yet?

by checking the specs...
if a DAC has an on board clock then its a MASTER ... if not, its a SLAVE.

Hi Andre,

In this case, the on board clock oscillator at the bottom right, makes this a master DAC?

Was wondering if the loop could be fixed by changing the way the pause command is being send in Volumio.. Is it possible to ad a mute command before the pause, prev and next command and a unmute when it starts playing again?

i can only see one oscillator... i am not sure if this is for the clock.
do you have the specs of the DAC manufacturer?
best would be to ask them if their DAC is a master or not.
