Qobuz vs. Tidal

Hello

What has more potential in the future? Qobuz or Tidal. In terms of quality, variety of music and hardware support with (my)Volumio and other devices.
Does the upgrade to HiRes at Qobuz really make sense?

best regards from Austria

I understand your question. But I’m not sure this forum is a place to discuss about pros and cons of commercial services. Volumio just provides access to this services.
Searching the web, you’ll find website comparing several providers https://www.consumerreports.org/streaming-media/best-music-streaming-service-for-you/

Hi, in my eyes it depends on what you think you need. Qobuz and Tidal serve different tastes, musical and other. So best try both, as I know both have trial for free.

Btw, I like Qobuz for their Classic and Jazz listing.

Cheers

Ernst

IMHO they are both great services, and I do not find any SQ difference between them.
As it has been already mentioned, they serve a slightly different public.

If you’re into Hip Hop et similia, you’ll see that TIDAL is very aimed at those tastes. But you can find pretty much anything on it, and they’re starting to offer master quality materials as well.

I ABSOLUTELY love the editorial line of QOBUZ: their selection of playlists, albums and curated contents is second to none.
