No output from Allo DigiOne

Hello,

I’m unable to get any output from my Allo DigiOne. I’m using the following:

Volumio - v2.526
Volumio Spotify Connect - 02nd Febuary 2019 release

Volumio is configured to use the DigiOne I2S “DAC” in the settings page.

My error log can be seen here: logs.volumio.org/volumio/KMGYeqI.html

The following entries might be relevant to the issue:

Feb 04 18:35:12 volumio volumio[1551]: ALSA lib pcm.c:2495:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM undefined
Feb 04 18:35:12 volumio volumio[1551]: [Vollibrespot] : Alsa error PCM open ALSA function ‘snd_pcm_open’ failed with error ‘ENOENT: No such file or directory’
Feb 04 18:35:12 volumio volumio[1551]: [Vollibrespot] : Could not start audio: Alsa error: PCM open failed

Feb 04 18:35:12 volumio volumio[1551]: [Vollibrespot] : Could not start audio: Alsa error: PCM open failed

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I looked and saw this:

volumio 1970 874 0 18:35 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh -c /usr/local/bin/node /volumio/logsubmit.js ‘No output from Allo Digione.’
volumio 1971 1970 0 18:35 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/bin/node /volumio/logsubmit.js No output from Allo Digione.

That suggests that the Digione board is faulty…

Thanks for the reply. I just noticed that when I power the Pi up with a coax cable connected to my DAC, the startup tone does play, so it seems as though the issue is specific to the software I’m trying to use (Volumio Spotify Connect 2).

Please contact the plugin developer

Hi,

i have the same problem-not output from a new installed digione. the RPI with volumio is working fine over the standard audio jack. The Digione when plugged is always having a green led one. i configured the music output to digione, but not sound via coax.

Here is my log file:
logs.volumio.org/volumio/ElBAND4.html

It says CPU and Codec not registered…

May 19 07:22:37 volumiosg kernel: snd-allo-digione soc:sound: ASoC: CPU DAI (null) not registered - will retry
May 19 07:22:37 volumiosg kernel: snd-allo-digione soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI wm8804-spdif not registered - will retry

Any Help appreciated…i looking forward to hear the sound with the digione…

Thanks
Simon

Simon,

this is not really an error, it is just that driver registration failed at the first attempt (afaik it is error -517), this can be a timing issue and implies the component trying to register the driver needs to retry, which is done just below it and that succeeds

May 19 07:22:37 volumiosg kernel: wm8804 1-003b: revision E May 19 07:22:37 volumiosg kernel: snd-allo-digione soc:sound: wm8804-spdif <-> 3f203000.i2s mapping ok

However, I see no other clues either.
I know, I should not ask, but are you sure you selected SPDIF as your output device?
