MyVolumio plugin

Postby mfebres » Wed Apr 10 2019 21:22

Hello,

After following all the documentation on https://volumio.github.io/docs/index.html I was finally able to create my own image file with custom code for Asus Tinkerboard and it works great but I have some questions regarding how MyVolumio works.

AFAIK MyVolumio is a paid plugin/service that allow users to access advance/premium functionality like Tidal and Qobuz playback.

When I test the image volumio-2.555-2019-02-18-tinkerboard I can see the MyVolumio login/signup buttons on the right menu and also Tidal and Qobuz login panels on My Music section.

But after creating my own image with my custom code that was forked from Volumio2 repository, I can't see neither the MyVolumio buttons nor the Tidal/Qobuz panels. After some research I found out that Volumio2 backend is looking for the directory /myvolumio/ . That folder does not exist in my custom image file BUT exists on the original image file for Tinkerboard.

  • It is possible to use Tidal and Qobuz with the free version of MyVolumio or without MyVolumio?
  • How I can include MyVolumio plugin on my custom image file? I tried copying the /myvolumio/ folder from the original image to my tinkerboard and now the plugin seems to be recognized as I can see the My Volumio logo in the menu BUT I can't see the Tidal/Qobuz login panels on My Music screen.

Regards,

If you have an android phone or tablet you can use Bubble uPnP to control Qobuz and Tidal and direct the stream to Volumio.

Bubble also gives you access to your nas drive, Google Play plus other services.

Not sure if this will help

Thanks but actually I would like to have the Tidal/Qobuz integration on the volumio UI.

I do use Bubble uPnP too :)

I believe this is a premium/myvolumio feature only at the moment.

MyVolumio plugin

I thought that too but the fact that the plugin is included in the default image for Tinkerboard (and other devices I guess) for free makes me wonder about it.

I'd reckon it's because primo uses the tinkerboard and the image is from the same build. That being said, I do recall reading on the forums that these plugins will eventually make it into the normal Volumio plugin catalogue - but this is from memory - don't quote me! ;-)

MyVolumio is a set of premium features which are not open source. This includes TIDAL, QOBUZ, Auto-sync of settings and remote control (soon CD Playback and Ripping).
So they are not available on custom images.

TIDAL and QOBUZ integrations (and other features) are available via our OEM program, where we fine-tune and customize Volumio for several audio brands, as you can see here: https://volumio.org/oem-custom-solutions/
