MRz+ DAC/Music Server/Streamer

Hello All,

My first post here, and I am a ‘Volumio novice’, so please bear with me…

Have used Volumio for a couple of years to power a Raspberry Pi Zero W to stream music, via a USB DAC, to my car’s audio system, which, unsurprisingly, produced much better results than streaming via Bluetooth. The source in both cases was a Blackberry KEYone. I have just upgraded to v2.513

I am now ready to make the move to add a ‘gadget’ that would blend in with my home Hi-Fi system [Primare PRE30 + A32, DSPeaker Anti-Mode Dual Core 2.0 and ProAc Response D25]. The aim of acquiring this ‘gadget’ is to replace a Cambridge Audio Stream Magic 6 network streamer, and potentially take over the DAC duties from a Sony SCD-XA5400ES SACD player, where the player will simply be used as a CD transport. The DSPeaker unit is used for room-effect correction.

The ‘gadget’ in question is the MRz+ DAC Music Server/Streamer (http://mrzdap.com), which, when produced, will run Volumio. The MRz+ was offered as a Kickstarter campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1157839888/mrz-uhd-music-server-as-the-digital-hub-in-a-high-0/description

Would like to hear your thoughts on the MRz+, and how well Volumio is likely to integrate with the MRz+. Iis anybody from Volumio working with the company building the MRz+?

A Blackberry KEYone (or Windows Laptop or a similar source) will be used to control Volumio. The main use of MRz+ is to stream TIDAL and/or Qobuz (Hi-Fi/FLAC recordings). To this end I have now signed up for a MyVolumio VIRTUOSO account.

Thank you.
