I had to reinsert my NAS (WD MyBookLive Duo) into a new instance of volumio. I got errors all the time because I forgot to enter vers=1.0 as option (for those who have problems with that too - that’s the solution. During the repeated attempts I accidentally used other aliases. Later I found orphaned directories under /mnt/NAS/…, which resulted from the incorrect attempts with changing aliases.
