Hi Michelangelo,
yes, I know that the x86 version is in development. I used a dedicated USB stick for the tests, not my main system key :)

The version 2.256 satisfies my needs, for the moment, so I decided to go on with it.

Postby michelangelo » Tue Sep 12 2017 23:33

There is a new version which I would like to have help testing... You can use the DEV updater or flash directly the images:

For now available only on PI. Thanks for all your feedbacks!

RPi 2.246-2.272 failed first time, simply restarted with 2.246. Redid it, and 2.272 came through cleanly.

And then....

I restarted the Volumio GUI on my phone and looked at the config, to be greeted by a 'Welcome' config tool. Went through that, putting things in as they should be, but now there's no sound out of the speakers. All looks as if it's playing OK, but there's no sound. Hmm.

Turned out the DSD settings and the mixer had been altered such that no noise came out... RPi2 + HFB Dac+Pro

Reverting to 246 as 272 pauses intermittently and apparently randomly for 2-3 seconds. Music just stops, dead silence, then continues. The updater works, though.

No problem so far on my rpi3 & LG HiFi+ (fresh install).

Not really noticed any changes either except the setup wizard.

HELP NEEDED TO TEST THE NEW UPDATER

Postby vbrsteosch » Mon Sep 18 2017 08:47

I have flashed the test image (volumio-2.272-2017-09-09-pi.img.zip) onto a new card and so far everthing seems to be fine! Indexing was a breeze (1100+ albums and 15900+ tracks).

I'll continue testing this version on my Raspi (2b) and keep you posted in case I identify any further issue

Cheers

HELP NEEDED TO TEST THE NEW UPDATER

Postby Saiyato » Tue Sep 19 2017 12:40

Hey all,

I've scrolled through the posts, but I might have missed something. I've changed my system to the dev-branch, meaning I should be able to get updates.
I don't know if there are any updates, but I think I've had the same problem in version 2.260 (I now have 2.272).

Running on a Pi2B and HifiberryDigi, wired connection (for stability).

The error I am getting is:
Code: Select all
Sep 19 12:31:14 volumiotest volumio[10772]: info: Device is now in test mode
Sep 19 12:34:35 volumiotest volumio[10772]: info: Received Get System Version

These lines are the culprit I expect:
Code: Select all
Sep 19 12:34:43 volumiotest volumio-remote-updater[646]: curl_easy_perform() failed: Couldn't connect to server
Sep 19 12:34:43 volumiotest volumio-remote-updater[646]: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::invalid_argument'
Sep 19 12:34:43 volumiotest volumio-remote-updater[646]: what():  parse error - unexpected end of input

Anything I can do to help/test?
