I am using the very nice IQAudio Pi-DAC+ hat on my new RPi 3 B+.
I have tried several installations similar to Volumio, as well as the most recent Volumio itself, and Volumio is the only on that has this terrible clicking problem. It also clicks when volume is ramped to zero, as well as clicking the mute button on the browser interface. I suppose that these two conditions are not mutually exclusive.
Of all of the systems I have tried, the two I like the most are Rune, and Volumio.
As it stands now, I will be using Rune. As I have mentioned, it does not have this clicking on mute issue. Ironic I think!
Anyone else have this issue, and/or a solution?
I will also mention that Airplay drop off regularly, and sometimes I get and Alsa error message when changing “stations” or items on the playlist.
I have also seen the Browser interface become corrupt.
In addition to those things, it took me quite a while to even get the system to work after installing it.
Rune on the other hand was painless, and took very little time. Again, ironic.
